Mentoring
Mentoring
Bailey, Pullis, and Riggins aim to support early care and education professionals and leaders in setting up and formalizing a culture of mentoring within their own child care facilities, family child care homes, agencies, state programs, government agencies, etc.
Our mentoring model may be adapted by the individual organization based on their agency’s vision, mission and values. However, there are common elements to all successful mentoring programs such as:
- Opportunities to learn from each other
- To foster skills and knowledge
- To break down barriers
- To implement goals to address inequities
In addition, we provide the foundation to develop agency-specific resources to ensure a high-quality mentoring program through outlining key support structures.
